The Sports Core has two rooms that can be rented by homeowners who are in good standing with the association. All rooms are rented on an hourly basis from 6:00 am to 12:00 am and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Community Room
This room is a large open room with a full kitchen, a cozy seating area, five 60" round table and 20 chairs. There are additional tables and chairs that can be set up in the room. This room can accommodate up to 100 people.
Small Party Room
This room is a relatively small room with a view of the pool. It can accommodate up to 25 people.
Reservation Process
Check room availability on the room rental calendar that is posted on the Documents & Forms page of this website. Please note that this calendar is posted on a weekly basis and is not in real time. Other reservations may be in process.
If the room is available for your event, please contact the Homeowner Service Representative at the Sports Core to make a reservation. She can be reached by phone at 847-289-5251 or via email at support@thornwoodhoa.com. When making your reservation, please make sure to factor in time for setup and clean up. Your reservation will only be held for 2 weeks.
Submit a signed room rental agreement which can be downloaded from the Documents & Forms page of this website, along with the non-refundable room hold fee of $50 within 2 weeks of the reservation. Please note that the room will be offered to the next resident without notification if the hold fee and signed agreement are not received by the due date.
Thirty days prior to your event, submit the security deposit of $250 and the final room rental fee (less the room hold fee). Room rental fees are listed in the room rental agreement.
Approximately one week prior to your rental, a Room Rental Attendant will contact you to set up a time to meet at the Sports Core to review your rental details, discuss pre- and post- rental expectations and give you keys to access the building on the day of your rental.
The security deposit will be returned to the renter within three to six (3-6) business weeks after the event, provided no damage is done to the premises and the room is left in a clean condition. Otherwise the cost of repairs and/or cleaning will be deducted from the security deposit and only the remaining balance will be returned. If the clubhouse is not clean at the end of your rental, a minimum cleaning fee of $50 will be deducted from your security deposit.
Other Information
Pool and patio privileges are not included with your room rental.
The rooms cannot be rented for any advertised commercial purpose.
There are additional tables and chairs available for use with your rental.
