Our Community
Thornwood is a planned community located in South Elgin, IL. The subdivision consists of 1055 single family homes of various sizes and 300 town-home style condominiums. The community was developed by Crown Community Development.
All homes in Thornwood are governed by the Thornwood HOA Declaration & Bylaws. The condos are also governed by the Thornwood Condominium Declaration & Bylaws.
Our diverse community of residents shares many common interests. The Sports Core in the neighborhood serves the community in many ways with plenty of activities organized all year round in which the residents can participate.
There are 2 pools -- a wading pool and a larger pool with a fantastic slide and a zero depth entrance along with other water features. The Sports Core also includes tennis courts, a basketball court and a sand volleyball court.
The clubhouse at the Thornwood Sports Core is a spacious and beautiful building designed to look like Frank Lloyd Wright had built it. The community takes great care of the facility and maintains its interior for various social events, as well as for rental of the clubhouse by Association members.
The children of our residents attend the highly ranked schools of the St. Charles Community Unit School District 303.
Just minutes away is the scenic Fox River and the beautiful Jon Duarr (Blackhawk) Forest Preserve and residents can take advantage of the Fox River Bike Trial.
Not far down the river is the historic town of St. Charles, IL and just north there is the All American City of Elgin, IL.
